Falling Behind

So obviously I kinda fell of the wagon the last week or so. And unfortunately I will not be hitting my goal of 158lbs this month.

Setbacks: Only went to the gym 3 times this week. Which is still good. But we didn't really have good reasons not to go. We ate out A LOT. And it wasn't healthy. We are talking food covered in cheese, tons of fat and desserts. Granted I did have a minor surgery and I was a bit depressed and sore from it. But still. I shouldn't make too many excuses. As well as getting my license and becoming self absorbed in marketing, making my website and advertising. Yeah, Im awesome.

So my weight for last week and this week remain unchanged. Which is expected. Yesterdays workout pretty much kicked my butt.

But May is a new month and starting May 1st it will be 58 days until my 26th Birthday and My Goal date to be 145lbs. (The adjusted weight.)  Basically I need to kick some more ass and stop going out to eat multiple times a week. Plus my wallet is broke now...sigh.

Last Chance Workout

For those of you who watch Biggest Loser, Last Chance Workout is the big workout before the final weigh-in. Except mine is 10 days long. I'm going to attempt to workout EVERYDAY. Eat healthy and not go out to eat, with the exception of this Saturday Night for my Graduation.

This Week was pretty normal except we only worked out 4 days this week. Meh. I want to go to the gym. I've been cleaning a lot at home so I'm moving. I also had my minor surgery on Thursday so I wasn't in any mood to go to the gym.

I finally got my license approved, So I am now a Licensed Massage Therapist. That's right. I'm awesome. Graduation is this Saturday and I get to see my Massage School Family. And since I don't have any immediate Family in TX I have invited my closest Friends, Matt and Carol and James and  Jen.

My goal by the end of the Month is 158 lbs. Since I am currently sitting at about 162lbs, that's 4 lbs which is HUGE for 10 days. But I'm confident that if I continue to keep snacking to a minimum and make healthy decisions when it comes to my meals I should be able to make. If not, there's always next month.

April- 158lbs (-10)
May- 150lbs (-8)
June- 142lbs (-8)
July-  135 lbs (-7)

So 33lbs. Maybe more, maybe less. I just want a lower body fat percentage. Maybe closer to 20%?

Another Week Gone By!

April 12th Official weigh-in: 163.2 lbs (-1.6lbs). Ill take it! That's 5lbs overall. Yes Im alittle behind my goal of 161 lbs for this week but the week of 19th/26th I only budgeted a 1 lb loss so I have sometime to catch up! If I remember tonight Ill take a picture of my shake!

Still having Meal Replacement Shakes for breakfast(530a) and Dinner(7p), I have about 2 meals (9a, 2p) and 3 snacks in between. Ive been drinking a TON of water. Especially today since my throat is swollen and it hurts if there isnt a near constant stream of ice water going down my pipe. Sigh. At night it becomes itchy and dry and I wake up in the morning gagging on yummyness. Yay.

Ive been super excited about getting my Massage License (Havent gotten it yet, I called and they said next week, so fingers crossed!) Im updating my regular blog about that right after this!

Ive been doing alot of lifting with work. Trying to build muscle and muscle strength. I started off with such low weights and struggled. But now Im like "Ugh this weight sucks, Im having trouble!" Next session add 5 lbs, "Ugh this is so heavy, so much trouble" and then the next week 5 more lbs "Ugh why is this so heavy! (Pumps out all 5 reps/5sets everytime) Im so AWESOME.

Training

So I think it's pretty hilarious that many women think that by lifting weights they are going to bulk up. Seriously. It's true though. Lifting a single heavy weight will magically give a girl so much testosterone that she will literally become the Hulk overnight. Ok I can dream. I guess Ill just have to rely on heavy lifting, reps and dedication like everyone else. Sigh.
 
Ive been going to the gym 4-5 days a week and this is the beginning of week 3. I would like to believe that I have lost 6lbs putting me at 162.2lbs but I dont want to jump the gun just yet. Ill post my official weight on the "Official Weigh In Day" on Thursday! So I gotta bust my butt in the mean time.

I hit an amazing milestone today! I was able to lift 136lbs of my own body weight with 28lbs assisted. Maybe Ill get Mark to video tape me when I can actually do a pull up. I really really want to get a pull up bar for the house. Maybe Ill put some money aside for that.

Ive been collecting jars and decided this huge pickle jar was going to be my Tough Mudder savings. Mark and I get weekly allowances and this is where my spare change goes. The Tough Mudder will require $110 and the deadline is May 31st. Which means I gotta save faster!!

 My Vibrams have been treating me well. They are pretty amazing shoes. Hiking in them was so much fun. They have excellent grip.

I ordered more MRS from Idealshape. $160 for 4 tubs of shakes.  That's 2 chocolate for me and 2 vanilla for Mark. They are also coming with 2 bottles of their 'Pills'. The pills have some healthy vitamins and fat burning extras plus a small dose of caffeine. They were free, so we will give them a try! The shakes make sure I eat throughout the day. I dont snack like a binge-r anymore (Ok there was this ONE day...ok TWO days...) But hey Im a work in progress. Still delicious and I look forward to it for breakfast before work and after my workout around 7p.

I WANT to go to the gym. Like, my body expects it. And I like going. I honestly want to go and run for 30-40 minutes and try for pull-ups and lift weights. It's awesome and makes me happy.

Mark and I started (Well he's been doing it 3 days longer than me) this 5x5x5 Routine. A days you do 5 reps and 5 sets of Barbell Squats, Row and Press. B Day you do 5x5 Deadlift, Squat and Shoulder Press. We do it 3 days a week, usually Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Giving our bodies a break in between. We run Friday-Wednesday-ish. Somehow getting 2 days off, like Thursdays.
 
Side note: Been getting plenty of sleep (7-8 hours) with an occasional 5 hour night. Had a second sleep paralysis attack this week. Not as upsetting but frustrating none the less.


Anyways I am writing a TON. I should leave some to write another day. Hope everyone is doing well.

 So today will be a story told with pictures and words! Woah. So we arrived at St.Edward's Park and Trail and after a small trek we encountered WATER.

But it was no match for our Vibram's! They were amazing and we hiked and climbed rock easily. They grip really well.

Basically...

Food:
I stick pretty closely to counting calories which isnt hard when Im only eating a few different things.

Breakfast(530a): Idealshape Meal Replacement Shake (1 scoop), PB2 Chocolate (2 scoops)
Snack(730a): Applesauce (Motts Strawberry Summer Harvest)
Mid Lunch(930a): Can of Soup (Progresso) or a sandwich on whole wheat
Lunch(between 11a-2p): Salad (Tuna salad: Tuna, mayo w/olive oil, whole wheat rotini, Italian salad: Italian dressing, cucumber, whole wheat rotini) or a sandwich or soup
Snack(1p-330p): Trail Mix- A spoon of chocolate chips, peanuts and raisins or Hard boiled Egg, Quinoa with Veggies (Corn and Peas, sometimes Lima beans)
Dinner(7p): Idealshape Meal Replacement Shake (1 scoop), PB2 Chocolate (2 scoops)
Snack: Pickles and Pickle Juice (Just because I like the juice, also vinegar is supposed aid in digestion and weight loss, or that might be apple cider vinegar)

Workout: 5 days a Week
4p-630p
40 minutes: On the Elliptical (To pass the boredom I watch an Episode of Criminal Minds, Because you can't only watch 30 minutes when they catch the bad guy in the last 10 min!)

50 minutes: Strength Training
Stomach Routine: Machine (Obliques), Ab slider thing, Planks and a few others (Everyday-ish)
Strength Routine: Bicep Curls, Shoulder Press, Triceps Dips, Abductor Machine, Pull Up Assist, Lat Pull Down and a few others (3x a Week, Sam says I should wait a day in between to give my muscles time to heal)

Sometimes I throw in Tennis, Rollerblading and other activities.

Calories Per Day: 1000-1400
Calories Burned: 400-600

And that's about it.

I lost count, what day is it? Day 9?


 Man, I am slacking! It's been almost a week! Let us catch up!

Day 6-Thurs-Off day. But I went to the Gym anyways to meet up with Sam the Trainer again. He showed me exactly what machines to use, what setting and what weight. Then we set reps and filled out a paper that I get to fill in each time I work out! Sweet!

Before the gym I had suggested to Mark that we TRY ON SOME VIBRAMS. And he was like, ok! (Which means I am getting some awesome Vibram five finger toe shoes!! Hells yeah!) And one hour and 15 pairs of shoes later, we were $230 more in debt but have new workout and trekking shoes. (Come on! They were much needed! I was running in vans/skater shoes, my feet were all kinds of messed up from that...really...)

Mark got grumpy at me because I drank Hard Cider and Had a few sips of soda. I also had a big bowl of pho. But it's our off day! Apparently I was wrong, we are just off of working out...lame.

Day 7- Friday Went to the Gym and did the usual. Elliptical 40 minutes. Then assisted Pull-ups, those are my main focus. So I was told to do those first. Then the rest of my strength routine.

I noticed my blood sugar dropped really low while on the elliptical. I finished and immediately stole 2 mini tootsie rolls from the front counter. Maybe that's why they are there. I didn't tell Mark. I just got tested for diabetes and Im in the clear but I still find my blood sugar dropping sometimes. Maybe I should eat more fruit or have some applesauce before working out (I was having peanuts, raisins and a few chocolate chips before working out.)

Day 8- Well today was good and bad. I had a pretty traumatizing Sleep Paralysis attack. Ive had them since I was really little. I usually get maybe 1 a month but sometimes they leave me alone for a few months. Sometimes its a few a month. It had been about 2 months. Im always on my back and I always have trouble breathing (which sends me into a panic attack sometimes). But I was lucid dreaming (another one of my awesome sleep disorders, hypnopompia) that I was having a paralysis attack (INCEPTION! This has happened many times), of course my arm is just close enough to Mark's face when I have the attack that somehow I am able to wiggle my fingers, and I am literally stab his nose, cheeks and eyes with my flicking fingers and he isnt waking up. (Im still lucid dreaming, you can NOT move, even a little during an attack) So now Im upset and crying because he wont wake up and wake me up from the episode. Finally the paralysis breaks and I start making horrible whimpering sounds that quickly wake Mark up and he knows exactly what just happened. He wraps his arms around me and shushes me telling me Im ok and to breath. But it takes me a few hours to get past it.

Anyways, then we go to the Sherwood Festival! Yay! Steak on a stick, kettlecorn, beef jerky, a few bites of a pickle and a few bites of funnel cake! Nom nom nom! 3 gatorades and 4 bottles of water later. I knew 10 minutes after we left that I needed sunscreen, I avoided the sun like the plague all day but it found me. I somehow got the worse sunburn out of everyone. Damn pale skin...So now I can hardly move my arms. Good thinking wearing a corset....sigh. Chills and feverish and fatigued, my favorites! Overall, alright day.

Day 9- Sunday: My blood sugar dropped again while on the elliptical. Really bad. I had 2 more tootsie rolls and was almost instantly better. I struggled alot with finishing my reps, even at 30lbs. 3 sets of 15 reps is killing me. But I got this. Im not straining anything so I know Im ok for now. Sunburn made every shoulder move a pain but I pushed through it. Cold shower incoming!! Plus my strength is improving! I am almost out of Chocolate PB2! It's so good, I think I might switch to regular Peanut Butter for a little to get my calories up. I am still feeling shitty.
